Other than a little difficulty getting it to originally connect it has been a way better camera than the Wemo doorbell camera. Have not had any disconnects like I did with the Wemo. Does occasionally not record some stuff but not to annoying yet. Have had it installed for a few weeks now lots of weather in that time and no problems

Installée à côté de notre portail, l’installation se fait sans soucis particulier.
Une des rares à pouvoir être alimentée à la fois par des piles et par une alimentation externe.
Cela permet de s’adapter à la situation de chacun.
La connexion au réseau se passe sans encombre.
Petit plus avec l’utilisation de HomeKit secure video sans frais annexe.
Possibilité aussi d’installer une carte micro-sd pour garder une trace de ce que voit la caméra.
La qualité d’image est bonne, de jour comme de nuit.
Le boîtier résiste sans problème à la pluie.

En mi caso para conectarlo con homekit de apple y funciona muy bien!
Sin perdida de senyal tanto la app official o la homekit, y la grabacion a la nube de icloud genial .
La app oficial no la utilizo, solo cuando se tiene que actualizar namas.
Si que de forma gratis cuando llaman el timbre te graba en la nube de ellos gratis 7 dias.
Ademas de grabarse en sd si se tiene puesta o en mi caso en el icloud de apple.
La conexion es instantania! Tanto desde la app o homekit, ( para visualizar la camara fuera de casa hay que tener un apple tv o un homepod )
En mi caso es para fuera, asi que cuando llueva algo se va a mojar, haber lo que dura, ya que no indican nada sobre eso, pero si aguanta altas temperaturas y bajas temperaturas.

After reading many positive and negative reviews for this doorbell camera on Amazon, I decided to purchase this model based on its ability to work with HomeKit.
I have to say that since the 5 months I have had it, it has worked exactly as I would expect. It is still running with the included batteries, although they are now showing about 20% of life left so I will replace them very soon.
Installation was quite simple and rather than use the Aqara app, I set it up using the Apple Home app, as that is how my home system is configured to work. I can view the camera on all of my Apple devices, even the AppleTV.
The picture quality is just fine and it has the ability to communicate with people who come to the door when I am not in, but I guess they all do that.
On the whole, I am very satisfied with this camera and I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you have a HomeKit setup.

Excellent video quality, very easy to set up and as it works with both HomeKit and can record to an SD card, it means you don’t need an ongoing subscription unlike other video-doorbells. I choose this over the similar Eufy one as it is compatible with HomeKit secure video, and will be upgraded to support matter. In terms of privacy, all recordings are encrypted before being uploaded to he cloud, so there aren’t the privacy concerns that I had with the Ring or Nest doorbells. The Facial recognition works well, but relies on the data from your Apple Photos app (if using in the Apple ecosystem), so if you don’t have faces labelled in your photos it won’t work with the doorbell. The motion recognition also works well, but if people move past very quickly it will not always wake up in time, but that may be because I have mine battery powered. If it is wired I think it can be more responsive. The motion activation is easy to customise and I have not had any false alerts, and you can also set an activation zone, but I have not tried this. As for the battery life, it is too early to tell. It has dropped to 80% after 2 weeks, but I have been using it a lot more than normal during this time to check it and set it up. Firmware updates automatically install easily and the doorbell rings through my HomePod and through the chime which is fantastic. The night vision is excellent, and although my upstream internet speed is only 1mb/s the live view seems to work well.
My only criticism is that the chime, which acts as the hub, needs to be plugged in which limits where it can be placed. I would have preferred if this had a rechargeable battery so it can be more freely placed.
UPDATE – on high use settings the batteries lasted 4 months. Based on this they could probably last 6 months in less sensitive settings.

What impresses me the most is the doorbell’s ability to instantly display video on my Apple TVs as soon as someone presses the button. The exceptional clarity of both daytime and nighttime cameras, along with very good sound quality, takes home security to another level.
The built-in AI, which automatically recognises faces from my Apple photo library and announces their names, is an innovative and personalized touch. The doorbell also boasts a built-in anti-tamper alarm, which significantly enhances home security.
In a market saturated with subscription-based models, the Aqara Video Doorbell G4’s lack of subscription fees is a breath of fresh air. The dual power modes—battery and hard-wiring—allow for flexibility to cater to individual needs and circumstances.
