As a retired nurse it was easy for me but they are very good with the Digital Reader

I was never completely sure how accurate these test strips were, or the EasyLife test unit used sample my blood when using them. We both had our doubts.
However this morning, just prior to being at my doctors, I did several tests by following the procedure very carefully using these strips. The readings came back to around 5.8. (see photo)
It can be hard to get a valid result as it is very easy to trigger a LO one – where you haven’t drawn enough blood.
At the doctors, within minutes of doing these tests I then had blood drawn to have several tests performed, one of them being my full Cholesterol, including HDL, LDL etc etc. I got the results back from the labs and my cholesterol overall levels are 4.1. That is normal and needs no treatment.
Whilst I appreciate that these units / strips are only intended to give you an overall cholesterol number that number has to be reasonably accurate if there is going to be any point in doing it at all.
We would not have confidence on relying on the readings shown, as the differences between those and that of the doctors / labs results are too great to be taken seriously.
In future I’ll just go to our doctors for an accurate test, after all if there is an issue that is where I would first go to discuss options on how to resolve those.
Overall in our experience I do not recommend using these to get a valid or reliable result, which could then have health implications if relied on.
I do hope that this review has helped you.

I buy these for my own health and that of my family. We have all wasted some stripes. The price is somewhat shocking and I would probably buy more often if not so expensive.

Just use these on occasion when needed. and using them sparingly.
They come boxed with instructions and a new code chip.
They do work and are accurate for me and the doctor checks on the cholesterol level are the same figures so far.
So the cross-reference is the same.
And the relief of knowing is peace of mind…

These newer strips require less blood so 10ul not 15ul which is clearly easier.
Accuracy is compariable to the older strips which on occassion can be out. It gives an indication, and i never expect it to be accurate like a doctor ordered blood test.
My main beef is they are too expensive, no idea why the strips are so much and then they need to be used within 2 months of opening which is bad. I don’t test evry week – they need to find a way of them being able to be stored for 6 months at least . Maybe they should wrap them all individually? Seems fair given the price you pay!

Cannot comment on accuracy as not had recent lab test but seems ok, what I expected.
Easy to use with meter purchased for around £50.
Only negative for me is that once opened the strips have a shelf life of only two months and I was hoping to test say every 2 weeks. Would be useful if the strips were split into two containers.
