Excellent stuff. I used to get this on prescription from my GP when it was called Flixonase. NHS Scotland have stopped issuing Flixonase & have changed to the cheaper Avamys… which I’m told is the same (Fluticasone Propionate), but Avamys simply does nothing for me. This Pirinase Hayfever Relief is the Flixonase I used to get on the NHS…. Instant relief, and after 2 summers of misery and difficulty breathing, I’m so glad I found it. The bottles are exactly the same as the Flixonase I used to get on prescription except that you only get 60 sprays per bottle whereas the Flixonase gave 120 sprays. At full retail price in the chemists, it’s quite expensive, so I either wait for it to come on Amazon for £5 a bottle, or occasionally my local Home Bargains shop has it for under £5.

I suffer with hay fever every year on really high pollen days even though I take on or two hay fever tablets some days. this year I decided to go all out and try a number of other products to combat the effects of hay fever. So along with this and my usual hay fever tablets I’ve also been using balm for around my nostrils and hay fever wipes.
I can’t tell which product is having the most effect but this year I’ve not suffered at all with hay fever so will continue to use all products in the future. Yes it may be an expense but if it ends up costing me £30-40 each year then I’ll gladly pay it if it means I’m not having to suffer the effects hay fever.
I will say that I tried a different nasal spray a number of years ago but it was such a horrible experience that it put my off them until now. This product doesn’t burn like the last one or leave a nasty smell. I can’t remember which product I used previously.
Recommended.

The only product I have found that actually works for my son, he has tried all the top brands and tablets, this is the only one to work.

This review is for Pirinase Hayfever Relief Nasal Spray for Adults.
I’ve used Fluticasone nasal spray for many years. I’ve used the brand name in the USA (Flonase) as well as many generic variants. In all cases the product is the same, and it works for my allergies. In most cases, the bottling and spray is very similar and also works fine. Pirinase is the first one I’ve tried since moving to the UK. It appears that the spray mechanism is inferior. The problem is that it ‘leaks down’ over the course of one day, requireing it to be primed every day before use, resulting in wasted spray. I’ve not had this issue before with any other brand. Normally, with other brands I’ve used, I find that priming is only needed if it is unused for several days. I’ll consider myself lucky to get half the usual number of doses out of this product. Maybe I just got a bad bottle. But I reckon I’ll just switch to a different brand. Update: It ran out after much less than half the stated number of doses. I have one bottle left over from the US that I’m using now, when that runs out I’ll try Boots brand of Fluticasone spray.

Works for me

I’ve tried so many nasal sprays for my recent sinus issues and, while some of them provide temporary relief, none of them have attacked the underlying issue. This nasal spray has sorted out the issue and I’ll use it again if I have the same problem again.

Couple of things to note: you need to use this for a few days before it starts to work – it does say that deep in the small print, but they don’t make it obvious. I find this means if you forget to take it for a few days you have to start all over again, which is annoying! One other thing – the own-brand version from a popular high street chemist is exactly the same formula, but has a far better bottle design – it’s very hard to get the last few sprays out of this, which is annoying!
All that aside, this is the only thing that has stopped my awful hayfever. I still get itchy eyes at times, but after trying everything else, this is definitely by far the most effective. I’ve had ups and downs with it – I do find that my sense of smell has greatly diminished by the end of summer, which is frustrating. I notice that they’ve added ‘don’t take for more than a month without consulting a doctor’ to the instructions now – I wonder if that’s why? I also went through a phase of taking it at night and eventually realised that it was the cause of dreadful ulcers I was getting at the back of my tongue – presumably it was dripping down my throat as I slept and pooling there. But all that is worth it to actually enjoy spring and summer the same way everyone else does, not having to carry a box of tissues everywhere, and an end to sneezing fits so long and violent that you have to go lie down with a wet flannel over your face. You know what I mean, fellow hayfever sufferers!

Can’t believe I didn’t find this sooner! I work in an air conditioned office (it’s cold with a constant draft) in a plastics factory which for some reason, causes me to have a constant runny nose, watery eyes, drowsiness and sneeze all day long..I’d go through a pack of tissues a day! I had tried all kinds of allergy tablets etc, however nothing would resolve this making my working days so uncomfortable. I saw these and purchased it based on other positive reviews and I am so impressed with the effect it has taken within the first few sprays! It’s completely eliminating all my symptoms to the point where I’m not blowing my nose once a work! I feel so much better and healthier. No longer feel like I have a permanent heavy cold. It isn’t uncomfortable to spray up your nostrils either, doesn’t sting or smell, it just feels like a spray of water. I do this first thing in the morning before leaving the house. So anyone who is full of allergies and has a sensitive nose, purchase this…you really won’t regret it!…Only negative…it could be a bigger bottle but the price is good for what you get.
