Do you wish you could regain the energy, strength, balance and mobility you had in your younger years? Or, are you living with joint pain or stiffness and want to address this to allow for a more productive and pain-free life? Well, if the answer to either of these is yes, then please keep reading!
If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you!
A recent CDC study found that less than 1 in 4 people get enough exercise. This is a very significant stat as physical exercise is hugely important in maintaining both physical and mental well-being.
Without exercise, as we age we experience energy loss, stiffness, aches and general weakness. These can be worsened if other medical issues come in to play, such as osteoporosis or arthritis. Combined, this can lead to loss of independence and a reduced quality of life.
But this does not have to be the case for you! It is never too late to start (or re-start) your healthy lifestyle.
In this book, written for those who want to make positive changes to their quality of life, you will discover:
- How to rebuild lost muscle, increase range of motion and balance, boost your energy, and relieve & prevent chronic pain
- The various stages of the aging process, and how to help reverse them
- Routines that can be done from the comfort of your own home, with no equipment needed
- Beginner-friendly routines that anyone can do

I think this book is good but as a personal trainer, people in their 60s can be more mobile than you think. I bought this book to give me some more insight on certain exercises I can do with my older clients but it‘s really limiting on what they can do. I’m not very experienced with the older crowd as I’m a strength and power focused trainer (I usually work with a lot of people from the age of 20-35). This is more of a beginner book for people in their 60s. However, this book would be great for someone who is barely starting out and doesn’t train with a trainer and has injuries that limit their mobility.

Volume 1 is well organized and the steps for each exercise are easy to follow. The author provides modifications to meet individual abilities and tips for making sure you get the most benefit from each exercise. It’s a wonderful resource for those wanting to begin an exercise routine as well as those ready for a challenge. I’m looking forward to starting Volume 2!

I love this book. I am 68 years old, in pretty good health overall, but overweight. I’ve always been somewhat exercise intolerant, getting sick or injured whenever I try to exercise even with a simple program. I have done better with yoga and qigong, but have not found a program I could stick to at home. I just got this book and did the stretches this morning, along with several of the core exercises. What I love is the exercise diagrams and descriptions – they are so well done, it is really easy to follow. And, it is just like having my yoga instructor right by my side, reminding me to stay aligned and breathe. It really clicks with me and I so enjoyed the 30 minutes I spent. Hopefully it wasn’t too much, as I will look forward to doing this every morning and building up to a level where I can handle more of the exercises in the book. Thanks for this book – you wrote it for me, didn’t you? Thanks so much! I also purchased the kettlebell book, but need to build up my strength and stamina with this book before I move on to those exercises. Something to look forward to.

The first thing I read was that Iann had gotten into senior fitness to help his Mom who had developed pain and reduced mobility due to aging, osteoporosis, and scoliosis. I thought “what a nice son!” I recently got my Senior Fitness Instructor Certification and was looking for a book that would give me some ideas for teaching my senior clients. This book will do both – help ME write a workout plan AND help a senior who would like to work out on their own. Iann starts the book with an introduction on how your body works, talks muscles, nutrition, foods that fight inflammation, and a few more things. His exercise instructions come complete with pictures and the correct way to do each exercise so you can keep the correct form to avoid unnecessary pain. I would recommend this book as your starter, then buy volume 2 to “up your game.” Happy fitness!

I bought both volumes at the same time and I was disappointed. This looks just like a printed version of an E-Book and probably more suited to the American market. It doesn’t give an index at the back of the book, just lots of hyperlinks which you obviously can’t click on. Very off putting.

Great ideas .

I thought the book was easy to follow but it would be so helpful to be in a spiral binding. The book will not stay open to a page and flips back shut. I am considering taking all the pages out and hole punching them and using a ring to make it easier to use.

The book is exactly what I was looking for and need. I like that I can do the exercises at my pace and in private. Has good pictures with good explanation. Highly recommend it. Connie

Hands down one of the best resources out there for information to assist and support those wanting to continue living a healthy and active life into their senior years. Easy to understand and follow. Lots of clear illustrations and routines to effectively do on your own. Can’t wait for volume 2!

I bought this and his Volume 2 book. Worth every penny! I had been doing well with cardio but was ignoring resistance training. This book and Volume 2 changed that! Volume 1 is great for beginners and those out of shape. Volume 2 is a bit more advanced. Quit stalling! Buy it and get going!
