Comfortable to hold and easy to work. Comes with covers to get you started.
The lid is not a great fit but otherwise excellent and a very good price.

We got this after borrowing one from our neighbour. Our baby had her vaccination and we were told to watch for a fever. Sure enough that night she felt hot and wouldn’t settle. We had our own off brand thermometer which was not giving a reliable reading so we borrowed one of these from a neighbour. What a difference! We were able to accurately track our baby’s fever as it started, peaked and cleared and treat her so she recovered quickly. We were also able to tell when the fever had passed which gave mum a huge relief and allowed both of us to get some sleep (eventually).
We checked the brand and ordered the same one. After arriving we did a few checks using both to comfirm this one was accurate and working as it should.
The box arrives with a safety seal on the openings. The device requires 2 x AAA batteries which are included. It’s always appreciated when they include the batteries.
It’s really easy to use and includes the disposable ear canal covers for hygiene. Just slip a cover over the device until it clips on, place the device in ear snuggly and press the button, when you hear the beep you have a temperature reading (a couple of seconds). Instant temp readout in degrees C and either a backlight of green, amber, red depending on if the reading is a safe temp (green), mild fever (amber), or high fever (red).
This can be used on babies and adults. We used this on our 4 month old and also 37 year old.
The thermometer is entirely plastic but it’s good and tough and can easily withstand being dropped.

The thermometer gives a consistently high reading, which may distress some users. We compared it to the doctor’s reading. Because it is consistent, we are able to subtract i.5 from its reading.

Dangerously inconsistent readings. If you take your temperature four times in a row every single reading will be completely different and sometimes 1-2 degrees apart. Took temperature a few minutes apart four times to test and got 34.7 then 36.2 then 36.7 then 35.7. Also gives different readings between ears.
I’m using this post surgery when vulnerable to infection and sepsis and it keeps giving really low readings then really high readings. This has already resulted in me making a 111 call and being thrown into panic at a 34.1 reading. Not what you need from a thermometer at all
