During the summer months our tortoise has the freedom of the garden, but we shut her away overnight for protection (lots of foxes etc. round here). She’s great at hiding, so I attached one of these trackers to her shell. The distance facility in the findthings app is very hit and miss, but being able to sound an alarm on the tracker means that we can easily find her.
Incidentally, I fixed the tracker to the back of her shell using Sugru, a mouldable rubber that sets semi hard but remains flexible. This means that it doesn’t restrict the growth of her shell.
