Three years ago I read a Financial Times Guide called “ Wealth Management: How to plan, invest and protect your financial assets” by Jason Butler. I found it like a light being turned on and suddenly I could see! I had found someone who was writing to my situation. I have read it again – in a second edition – over this half-term break. Much of it is things I can delegate to an investment specialist or our accountant but the more general chapters on planning, money styles, wealth transfer, insurance, and young people and money I found really helpful. I now believe I have a good overview of our wealth and how to manage it. This is a good feeling.

The themes in the book are good and much remains relevant. However some of the policy and rates are out of date.

So I work n the FS sector and have done for many years but this book has taught be loads of stuff as well as describing it in a really easy manner. I’ve always thought that books on such topics had to be stuffy and difficult. This proves me wrong as it’s such an easy read and yet you learn so much

I bought this book with great hope and expectation. Possibly OK if you are trying to understand how so called wealth managers work.
I did not find this to be a useful book on how to manage my money.
